Summer Hair Styles

Hey guys.  So it is almost summer which means time for the beach.  Today I am going to be talking about different hair styles you can do to keep that hair out of your face.

One way is to have it up in a bun.  I personally like high buns because I can un-do them in high ponytail but it is your point of preference.  If also helps keep the sand out of your hair and not get tangled.

Another thing to do if you have shorter hair or don’t want it fully up is you can just pull the front up but have the back down.  I prefer to put it up with a rubber band but if your hair is too short you can just use bobby pins.  They to make sure that they match your hair color so there no as noticeable.  Hope this helps you and catch you next time.

Floral

Hey guys, Happy Easter!!! I know spring already started but I consider the start of spring to be Easter.  I think this because it’s when floral starts to come into season.

For floral you need to be careful about what you wear and how you wear it.  For one if you are in a floral skirt wear a plain shirt that compliments the color in the skirt.  And if you are in a floral dress wear plain accessories.  If you like a lot of patterns that is your choice but not everything always matches. Also while you may like it others might not like looking at it so if you are going where people will be looking at you consider plain or basic patterns.

While floral is pretty it is no “work formal.”  Floral is more for day time parties/events than work.  Please comment down below on what you want me to talk about.  HAPPY EASTER!!!!!

Style

Hey, so today I want to talk about style.  In LA I see a lot of the same things.  Leggings or shorts with crop tops and sometimes a flannel.  I can’t say that I don’t follow this trend but I defiantly dress how I want.  Sometimes people say that I am “too overdressed” but I find that an unfair statement.  To some it might be too dressy but to me it might be normal.  I have a more mature fashion style and it doesn’t mean that it is bad. Don’t let people tell you how you should dress because it is your expression not theirs.

You don’t need to follow trend you can express yourself without following everyone else.  It’s only too much if you think so. I am called too much but it’s not too much to me it’s my style.  If you don’t want to follow the trend don’t it’s your style not the worlds.

Love Life

Ok so this blog isn’t about fashion but I need to talk about something.  I feel that it isn’t fair that just because I am 13 I can’t be in love with someone.  He is amazing and I can never stop thinking about him.  But if I were to ever say that people would look at me like I am insane.  Every time I look at him I get butterflies in my stomach.  I wish it was ok to be in love and still be young.  The worst feeling in the world is to be in love and not here it back.  I didn’t hear it back even though I didn’t expect to hear it back it hurt a lot.  I have felt my heart break so much because of him but I still chase after because I can’t let him go.  Please comment if you have any advice for me please.

Dress Code 3

It is also really hard to find short according to the dress code.  I don’t like jeans because they are very uncomfortable.  And we cannot wear leggings wither and so it is very hard to find bottoms.  I wear a lot of skirts but sometimes I want to wear shorts but the ones that are a decent length and are not too short are too short for dress code.  I don’t try to be dress code it’s just hard to fine clothes that look good and fit the schools dress code.  One of the things I have noticed is that it’s only the guys that call me dress code. First of all they don’t understand how hard it is to find clothes that fit the dress code if you don’t like jeans.  And second of all they are of course the ones to notice this.  Please leave your comments on how you feel about your schools dress code or how it was.

Dress Code 2

I feel that the dress code is the strictest on shirts.  At my school you are not allowed to wear a tank top of any kind it has to be covering your shoulder.  This is unfair because we are told to do this because it “attracts guys.”  We should not be penalized because of the guys.  I understand not showing cleavage and keeping it reserved but our clothes should not be restricted because of the guys.  In the summer it is almost impossible to find shirts to cover my shoulders.  Especially with what is in stores it is very hard to find anything that is cute and fits dress code in the summer.  And if you buy something from the stores you have to cover it with a jacket and it is too hot for that.  The dress code needs to be modified for our convenience as well as the schools.

Dress Code 1

In my opinion the school dress code is too strict.  A lot of people say that I break the dress code a lot but it is very hard to follow with what is in stores today.  For shoes alone I feel that the dress code is too strict.  In the summer months especially it is hard to fine cute closed toed shoes for school.  I understand why we can’t wear flip flops, but sandals should be ok to wear.  They aren’t going to fall off and it is just as painful being stepped on with or without cloth over your toes.  It also gets really hot in LA in the summer.  It would be much more comfortable if we could wear sandals to school.  They should just need a back strap to be allowed at school.  I would feel much better if we were able to wear sandals to school.  That’s all for now see you next time.

Fashion Design Course Week 6

This week will be a continuation of last week’s blog. I will be list the different synthetic fabrics and there important characteristics.

Rayon- it is very easy to dye but it wrinkles very easily.  They deteriorate if left in light for long periods of time and are very flammable.

Man-Made Acetate- this fabric doesn’t dye well but it also doesn’t wrinkle easily.  It is not easily destroyed unless put in vinegar.

Nylon- this is the strongest synthetic fabric used in clothes.  It is water proof but is hard to get stains out of.  It cannot be put under heat or else it will melt.  It is almost impossible to dye.

Polyester- this is springy no matter what and rarely ever wrinkles.  It stains really easily and is hard to get out.

Acrylics- it is light, yet fluffy and durable.  They dry easily and are normally used in workout clothes.

Spandex- this is very strong, and is light weight and has a lot of elasticity.  This is normally used in bathing suits but heat can destroy the fabric and make it crack.

Remember this next time you are buying clothes or buying fabrics to make clothes.  These fabrics are in everything and synthetic fabrics not nearly as good for your skin.  Remember all of this when you are thinking about what is is your clothes.

Fashion Design Course Week 5

This week will be a continuation of last week’s blog. I will be list the different natural fabrics and there important characteristics.

Cotton- cotton is stronger wet than dry and can go through many washings.  It can also get holes very easily and also can deteriorate in long periods of sunlight.

Linen- linen is 2 to 3 times stronger than cotton and is easier to be dyed.  Sadly is does yellow wit age unlike cotton and as little elasticity.

Ramie- this is just a softer version of linen and is normally used in blends of different fabrics.

Wool- wool is very strong and bendable.  Wool also has elasticity which is helpful.  It also has a natural insulation so if it is hot it will keep you cool and if is cool it will keep you warm.  If you wash it in warm water it shrinks into felt.  It is also flame resistant and a water repellant.

Silk- silk is very light weight and is the strongest of all natural fabrics.  Light and heat can destroy silk and make it yellow.

Fashion Design Course Week 4

Hey, so this week I am going to be talking about different kinds of fabrics.  For sewing there are two different kinds of fabrics.  It is really important to know these for when you are looking at or deciding what fabrics to use.

The first fabric is called natural fabric which is anything that is grown or produced not by humans.  These fabrics are normally more comfortable and easier to “breath” in.  They are better for your skin and are normally found more in older clothes more than newer due to advancements.

The other kind of fabric is synthetic.  This is fabric made with natural fabrics and oil.  This fabric is used in a lot more today because there is a lot more you can do with it.  One of the things is that if it doesn’t have cotton it is very hard to color the textile.

That’s all for now see you next week, Bye. J
